HAO DING
Hao Ding is a pianist currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in piano performance at the University of Utah. Hao earned his Master of Music (MM) degree from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, where he gave numerous solo recitals and frequently served as an accompanist. His performances, praised for their adaptability and artistry, highlight his skill and dedication to collaborative playing. In 2024, Hao was awarded the Young Artist Solo First Prize and Young Artist Concerto First Prize at the SummerArts Piano Competition, affirming his technical brilliance and musical artistry. He draws inspiration from underrepresented composers such as Arne Oldberg, Adolf von Henselt, and Mélanie Bonis, and he is passionate about introducing their works to broader audiences. In addition to pursuing new heights in piano performance, Hao is committed to sharing the beauty of music with others and inspiring the next generation of musicians. He teaches piano at Washington Elementary School and volunteers at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, using music to nurture young talent and bring comfort to patients.
